Twitter gives Google a lesson on tribute to Pollock

12:47 am Category: Random Stuff

You may have noticed Google’s recent tribute to Jackson Pollock:

Many have complained that this is awful. Although it does incorporate Pollock’s style, the “Google” letters are barely visible.

Google often makes a hash of their tributes and theme icons, and this is no different. Because of Twitter’s simple and effective skin changer we are now beginning to see some great examples of how themes and tributes can be applied.

Here’s a good example of how to incorporate a latest theme, trend or tribute. It’s the Twitter page of Interior design magazine, Interior Complex, and their Pollock tribute.

Just a simple upload of a large image, select the tile background and you’re done. The majority of major companies now change their logo and identity regularly, and Google, although they don’t always produce the best designs, are one of the leaders in this growing trend.

Expect to see Twitter users follow suit by coming up with new and innovate profile pages.
