The check will only be waiting once I’ve completed the surveys. Sighs, rolls eyes. Also, there is no homepage for http://stateez.com. So who and what are stateez?

Although some companies do promise big payouts, I can’t think of many more mundane things than filling out surveys.

I googled the name because I had about 20 emails in my spam from them, no idea how they got my email address! Let me know if you have any luck stopping the emails.

  6. stu says:

Hi, I was getting tons of these emails, 2-5 per day, so I complained to velcom.ca. Take a look at my post above, #3 at October 19th, 2008 at 3:25 am. That was almost 2 days ago and they have stopped so far. Please complain to velcom.ca. You open a ticket with them, and send them your email with headers. They will warn stateez.com to stop.

  7. highena says:

Thanks for the info and the advice, Stu ;)

  8. stu says:

let me know if the emails stop (smt@cogeco.ca). When I complained, I said that others were receiving spam also. STATEEZ.COM looks like a Canadian spammer, possibly located near Brampton ON. I live close by, and I’d like to see this kind of Internet traffic shut down if possible.

  9. highena says:

Yes, I haven’t received anything for the past few days.

There is a downside to this. For the past week I’ve seen an increase in visitors here, all have come by way of googling, “stateez”. So there will probably be less visitors here now :( On the upside my inbox will be a little bit less full of rubbish.

    Thanks Stu

  10. stu says:

OK, http://www.stateez.com has changed ISPs. The spam is starting again. I checked with Velcom.ca, their old ISP, who turfed them out after my complaint, for spamming. Stateez.com has popped up again, and here’s their new ISP, closer to home for them:

    http://WWW.STATEEZ.COM – Geo Information
    IP Address 67.209.138.130
    Host http://www.stateez.com
    Location US US, United States
    City La Habra, CA 90631
    Organization Advan Technologies LLC
    ISP The ColoSite, LLC
    AS Number AS23073

I’ve registered with The ColoSite, LLC, and I’ll open a ticket as soon as I am able. I’m going after them.

My husband and I got a few “Married Wives Looking to Date” in our Yahoo email spam, and we just delete them, but the most recent one got me wondering if there was some way to totally stop them from appearing (we want our email account family friendly). Here’s what we got:

Ashley wants to invite you to a great site-sexually explicit Saturday, October 25, 2008 12:34 AM
From: “Affairs Club” Add sender to Contacts To: (our email address)
Ashley has a -sexually explicit- message to give you-

Hi there, my name is Ashley and I’m a 29 year old married woman. My friends at The Affairs Club wanted me to send a personal message to a few people who have visited dating communities in the past, and we understand that you have. I hope that I am not bothering you in any way.

I have been a member of the Affairs club for 3 months now, and I must admit that I am addicted to this site. I love my husband, but he travels A LOT for work, and I have needs that I just can’t control. I’m not looking for love, just for no strings attached love making with men that I will only see one or two times in my life.

My husband is also very conservative when it comes to making love, so the guys that I meet at the Affairs Club have to want to pleasure me everywhere, and when I say “everywhere”, I mean in every spot.

Now the people at the Affairs Club picked me to send out this message over the thousands of other married women only because I informed them how much I love their dating site…You and I will probably never meet, but there are thousands of married women just like me that you can date and make love to. In fact, I have met and slept with 15 gentlemen from this site in the past 3 months, and some of the other married women that I have met here have told me they make love to 10 or 20 different men a month. You wouldn’t believe how many husbands leave their wives alone for business…it’s crazy!

Married women like me are not sluts, we love our husbands, but you only live once, and we have needs and want to have fun.

Press here if you’re interested in meeting and dating married women:

Have fun no matter what you do in life! Just don’t let the days past you by without enjoying them to the fullest!

    Love,

    Ashley

  12. highena says:

Hi Melyssa, I took the liberty of removing your email address from your post, which was in your stateez message.
I clicked the unsuscribe link and haven’t received anything since, but this may be due to Stu’s efforts reporting stateez.

  13. highena says:

I spoke to soon. Just received a new stateez email. You can read it here – http://highena.com/scams/dr-suzanne-says-im-fat/

  14. Kevin says:

Received the check is waiting email, amongst many others that have made the mail to address look all to familiar, of which i googled to find this site.
I have just put stateez.com in the domain junk email filter option in hotmail and i suppose that will stop the emails coming from that domain at least. ( if in fact they do, Probably bounced around beforehand.) A pity though, as that email Mellysa got sounded preety good! , lol.

  15. Jobs2k says:

If you are using Hotmail, then there has been an upgrade (or downgrade as far as I am concerned) and you can now easily set filters to delete any Email from stateez.com
To do a similar thing in Outlook Express; select the E-mail you received, click Message>Create Rule From Message, then create a filter that deletes any message from stateez.com
I don’t use any other E-mail clients but I’m sure there is a similar thing in all of them. If there isn’t, then I would have to say they are crap!

Easy when you know how… lol. Hope this helps someone.

  16. Paul Hill says:

Thanks Stu for the advice and info, don’t know how they got my email address, and I live in England. I would also like to see this sort of traffic stopped too. Also thanks to Jobs2k for the message rule. I will put it into place asap.

  17. Paul Hill says:

I use BTYAHOO as my mail client and I added stateez.com to my blocked list last night, so far no more spam of this nature has arrived. Fingers crossed it will work. Hope I haven’t spoken too soon. Wish me luck!!!!

I’ve received many e-mails from this company and they won’t stop no matter what. I suspect they got my e-mail from Iolo because I bought System Mechanic and registered just before Christmas and that’s when the e-mails started. I’ve contacetd Iolo twice since then bout them possible sharing my e-mail address and they have not responded. That’s the lsat Iolo product I will ever buy

  20. paul hill says:

since my last posting in november i have had no more emails from stateez but i do keep on getting ones that use my email address back to myself – the body contains company addresses in the states – these must have started since before christmas when i signed up to start using online surveys – they all appear to be marketing firms. I now ignore these.

  21. Trefor says:

I have been getting heaps of these too, “Affairs Club”, plus all sorts of surveys and software upgrades (Adobe was one). Looks like they have changed
their domain or got a new one, see the header below:
