Because of its sheer size in numbers and it’s power on the world stage, in recent months the company has taken steps to ensure it is actually recognized as a country by international law. President Zuckerberg is the head statesman of the nation of Facebook. The UN has granted that the Facebook logo be recognized as the national flag, and Sir Elton John is currently working on a new national anthem.

Over the past eighteen months Facebook has been building up it’s own army of well trained troops and amassing a haul of high-tech weaponry. In a statement issued last Novemeber Facebook stated it only wished to protect itself and its citizens from cyber terrorists and VMDs (Virus’s of Mass Destruction). But, whereas other countries in the past have stated they only have armies and weapons as a form of self-defence, Facebook is now using its military might to expand its empire.

At midnight EST, Facebook troops crossed the borders to the north and south of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and enforced a strict no fly zone across the country. Rebels have joined the troops and are pushing back loyal supporters of the military regime. One elderly gentleman in a village north of Pyongyang cried with jubilation, “I’ve waited years for this moment, and if our dear leader doesn’t like it he can poke me!”

President Zuckerberg addressed the world’s press stating that careful consideration was given to the invasion, and that the liberation of North Korea’s oppressed people was of benefit to the wider international community. Whilst emphasizing that Facebook had no wishes for regime change within the country they did wish to bring “Faceocracy” to the people of North Korea.

Human rights advocates have slammed the invasion, and conspiracy theorists are rubbishing claims that the motive is to bring Faceocracy to the country, and that the real agenda is server space. This has been one of Facebook’s biggest challenges since its astronomical rise in popularity – server space for all the data. Having already used what resources it can within the US, internet analysts have been predicting for some time that Facebook would eventually need to look abroad in order to continue its expansion and domination. With its strict internet laws and sheer lack of servers, North Korea is seen as a logical target in which to build more data centers.

People who are addicted to posting status updates can be categorized into five different personalities:

The Drama Queen
Everybody has one on their list, and anything goes with these Facebook users. From posting how their day may be ruined because the dishwasher’s broken to letting some biatch know exactly what will happen if she keeps hitting on her man. Often more entertaining than your average soap opera, the drama queen status poster is usually the kind of person who was bullied at school. This has developed a “don’t give a damn” attitude to the world, yet a longing to be heard and appreciated. Facebook is the tool which enables them to tell the world they’re still standing and won’t be beaten. They strive for comments and replies to their status updates and can become quite distraught if they don’t get the attention they crave.

The Celebrity Wannabe
Everything’s just fabulous with this status personality. They love their friends and family sooo much, every weekend’s just one long party, work’s stressful but rewarding, the future’s bright, everything’s perfect. You know when they’re not posting life aint all that anymore. The celebrity wannabe sees Facebook as they do a lot of the world – everything is driven by the entertainment world, the glamour, wealth and fame of celebrities is what they strive for, whether they acknowledge it or not. When posting on Facebook they even associate the word “status” with their own status in society, therefore it should always be impeccable.

The Boss
There’s always one who wants to dominate the status conversation, whether it be with getting their opinion across on world poverty or putting another poster in their place. The boss may not actually be a boss in real life. In fact, in many cases The Boss status poster is somebody who hasn’t achieved their goals in life and Facebook has allowed them to be more assertive without the usual face to face of everyday life. The Boss, in almost all cases, is somebody who had a strict upbringing and has developed a snobbish attitude towards others.

The Joker
Status updates are an absolute blessing for the the joker. All those times he’s thought of a hilarious one liner 5 minutes after the opportunity had gone to drop it in a conversation. Not anymore, he’s got all the time in the world now to let his comedy juices flow and post memorable replies. His own status updates are usually random quips, sometimes bordering on insane, and unable to mask his boredom and frustration at the world. The joker, like many comedians, used his talents to distract the bullies at school.

The Stalker
We’ve all seen them. The poor dude who has got carried away with how easy it is to hit on girls on the internet. There’s none of the public humiliation here as there is in real life, you get rejected you just move on. It’s not like you have to share a classroom with them anymore. The problem with these guys is there enthusiasm has quelled their subtleness. The private message feature doesn’t figure for these guys, but they’re on such a mission often they don’t even see the rejection replies of sniggers from the recipients friends, or in some cases partner.
