Scammers working out of bryn mawr college

I have received two email scams today claiming I have won a fortune on the UK lottery. Both are almost identical, except they ask me to contact two different people to claim my prize.

Here’s the latest one:

Dear Winner,

This is to inform you that your email ID has qualified for the UK
National Lottery Year Ending online internet promotion which your email
ID and 1000 others was pick at random by our online internet machine
selector (Email Extractor ) which select your email address and other
mail from all over the world as a participant of the British
Lottery.Your
ID have been approved to claim the sum of One Million Pounds from the
National Lottery. Contact our Agent with verification form below as
required:

Different emails, same phone number.

Yet, both were sent from this email address: smillerc@brynmawr.edu

brynmawr.edu is the website for Bryn Mawr college in Pennsylvania. I’ve just sent an email to the college to get their thoughts on this.

    I just received one today as well! Except for mine was a little bit more PERSONAL. Had information of a credit card that I had lost last year.

    Hi Adam, thanks for aharing that. I have received a reply from the college but it seems they’ve sent me the wrong email as it’s adressed to somebody with a different name to mine.
    Here it is:

    The fact that they’ve addressed this to a Stella (which isn’t my name) makes me think they’ve perhaps received a lot of complaints. I’ve emailed back with a link to your comment. Hopefully I’ll get more clarification as to how they are tackling this. I’ll post here as soon as I know more.

    Incidently, did you check the address of who sent it? Was it from smillerc@brynmawr.edu?
