A charger for wireless and not only iPhone?

Tag: WWWhighena @ 2:05 pm

According to AppleInsider, a small Michigan company has obtained all the patents for a technology called eCoupled Technology, which could completely transform the way we recharge portable devices and in particular iPhone. It seems that the smartphone / iPod Nano has been used for numerous tests of this new technology.

Thanks to this innovation charging more would not require a cable but it would be possible via WiFi. For the moment it seems that the wireless connection can be used only for charging wireless iPhone and not for the continuous transfer of multimedia data in place to dock connector.

This limit is due to Banda WiFi b g iPhone that does not allow a sufficient passage of information while charging or vice versa does not allow for charging in an acceptable timeframe during a continuous data transfer.

But the gain in convenience is not negligible and a iPhone would appear even more technologically advanced.

The technology could be compatible with numerous devices that already use the WiFi, not only with iPhone, it will make the solution even more interesting because with one of these stations charging could recharge several devices.

Apple has not commented on the news but it is likely that some news to June in this sense emerges permanently. Anytime You can BUY iPod on following site.

Bring Las Vegas to your next party!

Tag: WWWhighena @ 11:24 pm

header.pngHere’s a site that I just came across and like the look of. Vegasstyleparty.com is where you can bring the casino to you. They handle casino theme parties from all over Southern California. Whether your planning a function for 4 or 4,000 people, VSP can cater for you. You can totally customize your event with games like Texas Hold’em Poker, Blackjack, Seven Card Stud, Three Card Poker, Let It Ride, Pai-Gow Poker and Craps.

Roulette Casino parties are one of the most popular forms of entertainment for corporate parties, sales promotions, product launches, and fund raisers, but by booking these services for a small personal function is a great way to entertain friends and family in the home.

Vegas Style Party uses high quality authentic casino equipment. Tables are regulation height & width and casino chips are 11.5 gram weight, exactly like major casinos in Las Vegas. Also, you can hire skilled professional dealers who will share their wealth of knowledge with you.

I particularly like the design of the website, which is very well laid out and easy navigate. I especially liked the use of mini cards and dice as bullets.

Vegasstyleparty is very popular for fundraising events. This proves to be very enticing for prospective donors, because they get to have fun while donating.

Nofollow plugin

google-no-follow1.gif

It’s not like highena gets thousands of comments (119 to date), but I think if fellow sites are visiting here and want to leave a comment for the backlink, that’s fine by me. So, I’ve installed the plugin to disable the nofollow attribute. I’ve also got a neat anti-spam plug-in too, so save your time and don’t bother with the viagra and replica watches comments.

Highena gets a facelift

Tag: WWWhighena @ 1:41 pm

With the anniversary of Highena.com coming up this month I decided to give the dirty dog a bit of a spruce up. I’ve completely changed the site template, though it’s not overly noticeable. Still got the red and black colour scheme and three column navigation. I will be trying out a few new plugins this week also, and sticking with any that either enhance the site or look just look pretty.

Google adsense videos

Google adsense for videos seems to be quite neat. Just giving it a whirl. I especially like the way you can edit the player to match your site colour scheme.

IE7 vs Firefox

In my opinion there is no competition. Microsoft have still not got round the annoying “click to activate and use this control” message that appears whenever you mouseover any flash application. Annoying!
There is a bit of code and a file that gets round this, but obviously there’s a hell of a lot of sites that haven’t incorporated this. Myself included.

I have a website that looks a beauty in Mozilla Firefox, but in IE7 the layout’s gone haywire. There’s no explanation for it whatsoever.

Some people have reported problems with Mozilla when using their add-ons, but I’ve never had a single problem with it. I think it beats IE on all fronts.

Go on, if you haven’t already -

Business directories

Tag: WWWhighena @ 5:27 pm

Over the past few days I’ve been submitting a friend’s business to the directories on the web. There seems to be a bit of a race and a battle going on to get businesses to sign up for their priority packages. I signed up with Scoot only to get a phone call an hour later from Emma at ITV Local, who informed me that Scoot - as well as192.com, Ask Alix and a lot of other directories - had been bought out by ITV.

For £450.00 a year for the keywords related to the business we would be guaranteed top spot on the listings in our area of the country. To show me Emma prioritised our listing for 15 minutes to show us how it would look. 24 hours later and we’re still top. Bit of a glitch there. hehehe. In that 24 hours it seems we’ve had 42 hits from the listing, so if we decide on the £450 package it could be money well spent.

ITV Local has only been on line 6 weeks, but is already getting a hell of a lot of traffic, and because of the buy outs of the other directories I’m sure it will soon overtake Ufindus.

I found this company’s salesman to be quite annoying and, quite frankly, full of shit. Firstly, he phones me up half an hour after I’ve just submitted to a directory where you can view the latest submissions. So, this prick’s watching another directory, then targetting the businesses with his lame sales pitch.

First lie: he asks for me by name, then says he came across the company website and decided to contact me.

My name is no where to be found on the website.

Second lie: Ufindus gets 10 million hits a month.

He tells me this while I’m checking the stats on Alexa.

The funniest bit about his sales pitch was his opening line. “You’ve probably seen our advert on the break in Coronation Street.”

He seemed quite upset when I said I had a life.

Anyway, when he phoned up again this morning to badger me I just told him I was going with ITV Local. I heard a big snort down the line, then, “Where are they on the search engines?” he scoffed.

He actually hung up on me when I told him that ITV had bought out Scoot, 192, etc, and would soon blow Ufindus out the water. And they’re cheaper.
