Scammer busted on Digital Point

5:12 pm Category: Online Scams

Today on Digital Point I came across a thread where somebody was selling a blog called Sizzledcore.com. Somebody on the forum must have done a whois check. It turned out the domain was registered to a blogger from Pakistan, whereas the forum poster was from Denmark.

Somebody who thought the site was worth the purchase of $180 (BIN) chatted with the scammer on messenger.
Here’s how the conversation went:

Zoov: hello ben, are you there….?
BUZZ!!!
Benito Graffagnino: Hello? Who’s this?
Zoov: are you greenline at DP forum..?
Zoov: I’m Combyte
Zoov: just call me Zoov
Benito Graffagnino: Ah, hello Combyte
Zoov: can I call you ben..?
Graffagnino: Sure, I forgot what we were discussing on DP?
Graffagnino: Can you remind me please
Zoov: wait..
Zoov: forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1137040
Zoov: remember..?
Benito Graffagnino: Ah yes, I remember.
Benito Graffagnino: Sorry, I’ve not been on DP alot, so I haven’t checked the thread.
Benito Graffagnino: But I believe you are interested
Zoov: what’s your name….?
Benito Graffagnino: Well, I live in Denmark now, so I changed my name, but originially I am from Pakistan, I changed my name whilst here hope you can understand, also I bought the DP account on a warez forum
Zoov: ok. what’s your site to sell it..?
Benito Graffagnino: Sorry, what do you mean?
Zoov: do you want to sell your site, right..?
Zoov: what’s url..?
Benito Graffagnino: Yes, for a good offer I will do… sizzledcore dot com
Zoov: ok. now change the title of your site become Sizzled XPlore Core – Internet, Web 2.0, Technology
Zoov: XPlore is my name
Zoov: please do that for me..
Benito Graffagnino: I’m not going to fiddle around with the site, if you dont trust me just say so…and we dont have to do the deal.. But the reason being I dont have access to it, it’s a co-joined website that I own with another friend that lives in Pakistan registered at Bluehost, do you know it?
Zoov: ok. then.. good bye..

Here’s the full thread here.

It turned out the scammer had started a few threads selling domains also. You tend to trust people that have been on forums for awhile. This guy had 913 posts and an iTrader of 29, but it could have been a hijacked account.
