The best film I’ve seen this year is Slumdog Millionaire. I only saw this last night and it’s a cracking movie. It’s the story of Jamel Malik (played by Dev Patel), a boy growing up in the slums of Mumbai who goes on to appear on Who Want To Be a Millionaire.

The real focus of the story though is his love affair with Latika (played by Freida Pinto), and his relationship with his brother. The story is told through a series of flashbacks, basically showing how he knows the answer to each question through the hardships he has faced in his life.

It’s one of those films that has everything, and one you could definitely go back to and watch again.
The film is directed by Danny Boyle, so it’s no wonder it’s so good.

The Royle Family Christmas special is about to start in a few minutes, and I can’t wait. This was one of my favourite sitcoms a few years ago, and it’s great to see Jim, Barb and co returning to our screens.
